Default Headlight headache

Hey guys, I'm trying to get all my wiring checked and working prior to moving on with the project but I cant seem to get the headlights working. Side lights turn on fine but no headlights fire up. No voltage to bulbs, bulbs are ok.

Ive got a feeling im missing the headlamp sensor box but have no idea what it is and where to find the plug that it connects to. The manual says the connector should have 3 Orange and black wires, yellow/blue, pink/black, pink, 6 pin connector overall. I have a connector spare near the headlight connector at the battery tray but the cable colours dont match the manual.

Someone help me out please I'm pulling my hair out and im already going bald

Thanks tim, the connector im referring to is this one:

Im getting some proper wierd s**t now.

p/s headlight comes on
d/s never
d/s side light always comes on
p/s side light intermittent
when stalk is in headlight on position can hear humming from wiper motor, when wipers turned on headlights keep going up and down. I've made a major co**up somewhere.

Tim i'd appreciate it if you could tell me what goes onto that connector! Cheers guys

Just thought i'd mention, i've opened up the stalk and it is operating ok, making proper contact, tested with a continuity tester

EDIT: Found it in the manual

An update. The diode near the alternator loom was gone, bridged that and now the headlamps stay on with ignition on. Other diodes are ok.

Cleaned and connected up all the grounding points, now the wipers work fine without disturbing the headlights.

Still the headlights are playing up. Left lamp turns on when stalk is in second click position, no high bean when stalk is pulled back, main beam cuts out and no high beam. Right lamp shows no lights at all.

Both diodes are ok. Any clues people? Tim mate any chance i can borrow your stalk?

Gonna give this another go this evening, does anyone know if there are any other copies of the service manual apart from the 1986 one everyone has? I'm convinced my wiring doesn't match up

SORTED!!!

The first thing I checked when this problem came up was the fuses which at the time were fine, and while I have been tinkering with the wiring I think I must have blown the 15a fuse for the d/s headlamps. After scratching my head for days I went back and checked... hey presto the fuse was blown. Replaced it and now everything is ok
