Question Stop Headlight Popup with Sidelights?

Does anyone know if there's an easy way to stop the popup headlights coming up when only the sidelights are on and the ignition is switched on. They stay down when the ignition is off but soon as you flick the key the wind breaks pop up. Really want to do this as it looks really cool with lights down and orange sidelights on!

This is a Mk2 problem and involves a bit of re-wiring to the headlight relays. I did it to one of mine about 10 years ago but can't remember which ones needed modifying.

You'll have to go through the service manual and check the electrical schematics.

Thought that might be the case. Are the headlight relays the ones behind a black cover on the inside of the near side front wing (under bonnet). If so I'll get the electrical tester out when I'm next working on her and see if I can work it out!

Here's a pretty useless pic I took back then. It's the relays next to the battery. IIRC, after I did the mod, the headlights still came on but didn't open on position one but opened on position two. I seem to remember being able to confuse it all with a combination of the popup switch and the stalk :P

Was just reading about doing it for the S13 and it all sounded a bit familiar - snipping the red wire with the blue line and silver dashes going into the gray relay may do it.
