you need to remove your current actuator from the turbo and remove the turbo.The standard internal gate/flap for the wastegate needs to be welded shut completely (Unless your buying a new turbo which is external wastegate only)
You need to make yourself a new manifold aswell and have an external wastegate fitting on it. I dont think welding a remote wastegate locater pipe onto the std manifold would work verywell as the stock manifold is made out of cast dog poo and the weld would probably separate and crack away from it after a few heat/vibration cycles Its a big job. Do you still want to go ahead with it?

welding a flange onto the cast manifold would be fine imo, as when you do the t3 conversion, there has to be a steel flange welded on for that and i have never had any problems, i think the gains are to get rid of the gases quiker, this helps spooling up.
