ok.. so here's an update.

Maciej (aka Chester) is going to bring the bodykit rom warsaw to Gdynia ferry port next tuesday evening, I am going over on the ferry from sweden to pay him for the bodykit, fuel money and of course to collect the GP widebody kit.
Just waiting fpr confirmation that all 7 parts of the kit is ready and I'll book the ferry.

Some things to think about if you are going to poland.

Passport IS required, id is insufficient.
Must have warning triangle, fire extinguisher and reflective vest in the car, mobile phones only ok with handsfree (duh) and for us scandinavians at this time of the year, studded tyres are forbidden... which means having to put the summer tyres on the car for a two day trip, 99.9% of which will be in sweden with a 1km drive around the ferry terminal in Gdynia....

I'll update the thread when I know more, or when I have the kit.

Mike.

I have now booked the ferry and my lad is going to collect my kit and possibly one more kit for Jan-petter in norway.
If all goes well we will start fiting the kit next friday march 9th, I'll get back to you all with developments as and when.

As nobody has been in contact re collecting kits for the uk, I'll remove the offer. For the record Chester seems like a totally straight trustworthy man of his word.

Till later....

Mike.

So now that the bodykit is looking secure and will soon be here.... time to think about the wheels, width, offset and spacers etc..
Pukkasilvia, would you mind sharing specs on your wheels because they are the perfect look for these boxy hatchbacks... they look like minilights.. but I'd like to see the specs and prices if you have them.....

We are hoping to use 16x7 rims at the moment, as we have a shed load of part worn A032's street legal race tyres... 205/50-16 currently considering volvo s40 BBS Crater wheels, as they are plentiful and strong enough for some drifting/accidental kerbing abuse... but the offset at ET43 is pretty shallow and will need something like a 50mm spacer to get the wheel out in these GP arches which look about as wide as yours...
I am thinking about a ET25 offset and maybe a narrower spacer... although we can fine tune it later.... with perhaps a fixed (bolted on and studded)spacer at 30mm and have 8 10mm flat spacers laser cut to use to fine tune the front and rear track width, wondering if maybe we can fine tune the balance of the car by altering track width in a similar way to how you set up a gokart... might be cheaper than buying fully adjustable proflex shocks, and allow us to keep the billies we have on there now!

Thoughts...??

Mike.

Sweet Chester..

Hopefully one of those kits is mine, and I have been talking to jahn-petter in norway about paying for his kit and collecting that at the same time next wednesday. Looks like they stack nicely, so getting two complete sets in your V50 should not be a problem.
Any close up pictures of how the fuel filler cover attaches? Do we need to fabricate some new hinges, or does the new one attach to the existing cover??
Also interesting to know how much further out the rear wheel arches are from the standard ones, as we have been taking measurements to have wheel spacers made to get the right look on the car.
If anyone is interested, I'll post the dimensions, drawings and cad models, as well as pictures, or once I have them made I can get some prices for anyone else who wants to buy spacers to use with standard offset wheels and the gp widebody kit.

Nice work Chester,

Catch you later..

Mike.

Those 3 sets are reserved. And one from the next delivery.

These are the closups of the fuel tank.

Im afraid u will have to fabricate new hinges for the fuel cover.

The rear wheel arches widens about 5 cm but its har to tel because original fender is not flat and it have a smal flare about 1 cm.
