minor update, I've extracted the chip from a Mk2 ecu and scanned the rom image, and the fuel map is slightly different from the map that's doing the rounds on the net which I believe came from a Bluebird. so S12 and Bluebird ECU's are not identical (differences wouldn't cause much trouble though IMO)

I'm hoping to get the engine built and running on a chipped ECU by early march

cool, nice work.

I know its a bit cheeky but dont suppose I could get a sopy of the stock maps? or their location files? I really am seriously interesteing the in buying the ROM emulator and getting together all the kit to remap the ECU.

I shall be getting a burner to write the final maps to a fresh chip. But I would like an emulator so you can see what values are being accessed live for tuning purposes rather than just guessing.

All in you need quite a bit of kit. But finding the location files and getting a meaningful dump of the origonal chip is the hardest part.

I have a burner, an emulator and a load of chips, all available on ebay. I'll share stuff once I'm done and I've got a car running well with a re-mapped chip

been right throught the thread and didnt find it, not that it matters much.

Trying to bring this back on topic wasnt the origonal plan that a pro was playing with a members car, and once this had been done may fiddle with others?

If so I would be very interested in having them do some work on her because frankly re-tuning my ECU is a bit out of my league (probably) so Id rather get a pro to do it.

The way I look at it my cars had a different AFM fitted (Z32 I think) so the AFM curve is way out meaning Im over fueling like a good'n. This is ok on full boost, but it sucks on motorways at 3000rpm with -15 PSI as it gives me naff all MPG. Therefore its worth spending some real money to have this problem addressed, I'll get it back in fuel in no time.

Its currently over 22p per mile in fuel. If I can get that down to 18p thats £600 per year saving, so this is worth looking at. By bluebird on the same engine was 14p (29MPG), this car shouldnt be that much worse, in theory it could be better.
