ca4244@essex, thanks! But, it's not like I had ever done this before (and I'm not in the car business, I'm just a simple IT guy ). But I'm just really interested in cars (especially Jap cars) and always wanted to rebuild one (AE86 at first, but this S12 came as the perfect opportunity). So why not give it a try?

tim murphy, thanks!

bigdaves12, thanks. It's a lot of work taking everyting out and putting it back. And I just can't get it over my heart to put something dirty back in, so I always end up cleaning for hours

So what has happened the past weeks

- Retape the S12 harness (lots of degrease and tape work )
- Mount the S12 harness
- mounting various bits

Some pics before/after

Rebuild engine:
- new sealings
- new bearings (ACL race)
- cleaning oil pump
- cleaning pistons since I'm using the OEM ones
- new piston rings
- mounting revised head
- mounting inlet
and some other various bits

Some detail pics of the mid engine & head

As the engine is sitting atm:

Found a perfect set of blue S2000 seats

The color is really spot-on, couldn't suit better with the S12 blue!

Thx!!!!

On first sight they will need some adjustments! I'll try to make notes of it all when I get to that part and maybe I can write a DIY

But that'll probably be something I'll do once she's finished (in 6-12 months from now?)

Some other small update
Cleaned the alternator and painted it with a little brush (awww yeahhh )

Front done vs back not done

Finished

Installed the water pump, timing belt, etc ... and painted the front in black combined with a polished angle sensor

As the engine sits atm
