If theres no detonation it will be fine. and i wont do it until that is certain. It seems to bounce off the limiter fine in third and fourth on the way to work

You need to careful topping out the car.
The exhaust gas temps rise really high. This will lead it to detonate. Thats why you fit colder plugs. Standard ones will glow red, causing pre-ignition. Retarded timing and weak mixture will cause the exhaust gas temps to be high.

I am aware of what causes detonation. cheers for the advise though.
![]() slightly off subject but i am fitting a charge temp sensor/gauge by my throttle body this weekend. i will be interested to find out what temperature my intake reads.
