Dont be so small minded.

The most powerfull networks/economies and people live on the oil industry. Theres no way that any of them would promote the downfall of it or free energy. The typical attidude that you all have is exactly what the media-controlled by the same people- promote.

As soon as a revelation happens it normally appears in a science fiction program straight after. Its a way of making the masses ridicule it for being dreamed up by star trek geeks.

Ever wondered why so many really old sci-fi programs are pretty accurate to technology that has been released 15 years ater on.......

Firstly sorry, if I offended you Jon, I was only having a bit of fun .

I`ve done some more checking on the subject, it is possible to do, but you would actually be burning hydrogen and not water. The water is split into hydrogen and oxygen by electrolysis (see "Brown`s Gas" or "Hydroxy" on the internet). The main problems are ceramic coatings (as stated in my previous post about rust proofing the exhaust etc) and the amount of energy needed to convert the water into hydrogen and oxygen. The amount of hydrogen released would be less than the amount of energy required to make the reaction happen.

It`s actually more cost effective to convert a car to dual-fuel, than it is to convert the car to run on water.

The "Tomorrows World" programme that this was originally featured on was shown on the 1st April, I think this says something about the process .

If anyone wants to try this out, here is a link to download the conversion process :
http://www.spiritofmaat.com/archive/feb2/carplans.htm

Oil companies would be against the process if it was viable, I agree. But they didn`t manage to stop lpg or bio-diesel from being produced.

Like I said, sorry if I offended you, I was only having a bit of fun. But I`m still waiting to see a warp drive engine or working teleporter .

Regards,
Ian.

Kimberly was going to try this, we all ripped the piss out of him.

Until there is a time that hydrogen can be released from water cheaply than I can't see it happening.

Don`t get me wrong, if I thought it would actually work and be cost effective and easy to set up, I would probably try it myself. But the fact that it was first shown over ten years ago on the "Tomorrows World" programme on April 1st, sort of puts it into perspective .
You`ve got to admit though, it does sound pretty far fetched when you first hear about it.
If someone can perfect the process in the future, I will be the first to hold my hand up and say I was wrong .
Regards,
Ian.

This would violate the first law of thermodynamics ie, energy cannot be created or destroyed but can only change it's form.
Put another way more electrical power is needed to break the Hydrogen-oxygen bond in water than would be turned into useful power through burning the hydrogen so the car would never run
