What LSD is it?
A viscous LSD?

Never done it myself, so I'm not sure if you can just swap the crown wheel and pinion over to the S12 ones and re assembly in the S12 case.

They are both R200's but the S13 is a short nose and the S12 a long nose.

There might be a chance of fabricated the short nose onto the S12 subframe, but then you'd need a longer prop shaft. You might get lucky and find a S13/S14 one will fit or cobble a S12 front section with and S14 rear (I know the S12 front section is longer)

You might be in the best position to see how it mounts as you have the bits, if you need a spare S12 diff I have a couple kicking around, and open 3.9 and a welded 3.7

You can buy a Kaaz 2 way off the shelf, mine cost me more than I paid for the car, but it does feel nice

It does come with bearings and oil and is any easy swap.

Please enlighten us to which KAAZ number this is then please!

I'd guess a SAN2655 for a swap into S13 open diff - dam the Kaaz websites are just a tad better nowadays!
As it was always the drive shafts being the problem getting a S13 vLSD in and S12.

SAN2655 Super Q Kaaz 2way LSD

Yup, no need to swap shafts or anything just goes straight in stock UK S12 diff housing.

The super Q is the quieter and less annoying one

And Kaaz have a sale on but watch out for tax, vat, duty, you might be better off just buying in the UK so you know the actual cost.

Just looked on DW, the price has gone down, but the non-super Q varient is still ?654.

Super Q is ?734 and I think it's worth the extra ?80.

Good to know it fits, rather than educated guess work. Top job

First time in a while I've thought out digging the S12 out and getting it back up and running!

You wouldn't believe the amount of time I spent looking at diff info online, R180, R200, which car what size etc. In the end I took my diff out and apart and measured everything then cross referenced it with what was available to buy, Quaife do one as well but after their tech guy was nice enough to talk through it all with me, he said if I was drifting as well as tracking, the Kaaz one would be better as the Quaife one is never truely locked.
It does drive amazingly well now, S13 brakes and knuckles, S14 tension rod brackets and Japspeed LCA and Tension rods, all mixed up with a BC racing kit.
If you do get yours on the road give me a shout I'd love to get some more S12s on the S12 stand at Japshow at Santapod, I've still got some ?10 tickets left as well

I got to a similar point, but at the time was looking at ?750 for a diff that I wasn't sure about, so she got welded.
Rallying with a welded diff is hard work though, but boy was it fun!
The poor old girl is rolling (just), but needs lower control arms, track rods, wings repairing, NS door soring, NSR quarter popping out (), spare gear box in and then painting.
Did toy with the idea of stopping rallying and just make it into a track day tool, but it won't be getting done this year. Have to work abroad a lot at the moment and house and wife takes up any tinkering time that leaves.

Miss driving the old girl!

Default Helical gear

I put a helical gear diff from an s15 into my longnose (bushes for the bolts) and got the driveshafts shortened by 32mm and she sticks her arse out for fun! IIRC cost ?300 to have the shafts shortened and ?100 off Ebay for the diff
