Default Power steering pipes removal

ok, anyone done this??

my high pressure pipe has a hole in the rubber hose, pirtek said they should be able to repair it for me, but i got to remove it.

So how easy is this, and please say it can be done with engine etc in situ, only got a week left off work before i need the car again, and im meant to be spending it with the kids, so i need positive answers please fingers crossed.

for anyone thats done it, please tell me the bitch parts that i will need to know.

they are off the car, what a bi*ch of a job, undoing the pipe from the car so they are loose was simple, took 15 mins, getting the pipes off the car itself was a real pain.

basically you have to undo the metal heatshield from the rack, or like mine, undo 2 bolt and somehow get the pipes ontop of it, then undo the engine mount under the turbo, and jack the engine as high as it can go, also i took out the rad, then wriggle the pipes out backwards through the little hole.

took me 2 hrs to do that part.

putting it back in was equally a pain, but if you take off the engine mount bracket that is bolted to the engine, it just falls into place.

all back together and working, although the power steering pump seem to be a bit more noisey now, but that could have been me when i refilled it, it took all the fluid before i could fill it.

does seem to be getting more and more quiet the more i drive it.

have you blead the system by elevating the front wheels off the floor and steering lock to lock about 20 times that will get the air out of the system

i didnt jack it up, but i have done lock to lock bout 30 times.

ill see how it goes, i have a spare.
