When is it misfiring, on idle, whilst driving or both? You need to add a little more detail if you want peoples advice.:)

PukkaSilvia 12-11-2006 22:03

Yup agreed. For example, misfiring on boost can be totally different problem to at idle

s12Rob 13-11-2006 17:35

well its on idle or when i rev is at a constant speed u can hear it missing

PukkaSilvia 13-11-2006 17:44

That would normally mean that its either the following

Blown head gasket
bad injector or injector electrics( First thing is to check that you havnt knocked a plug slightly off the injector itself)
Bad ht leads, either old or damaged or poor contacts
Damaged/mispaced/faulty spark plugs.

Do a compression test aswell next after you have ruled out all the above.

mines the same mate and my engine is sweet as as its been looked at. its been there since i have had it and the engine has only covered 60k.... really weird, i have changed the same as you also the distributor. my mechanic mate whos very good says its something to do with hot or cold plugs and how quick they burn off fuel.

im gonna take mine to norris designs i think and get a few more bhp and a good set up????

Excite - I saw your car down at Ace Cafe last week. I wouldn't take your car to Norris unless you have a few thousand pounds spare

adzs12 14-11-2006 03:14

Excite 14-11-2006 03:27

PukkaSilvia 19-11-2006 22:01

Sounds like you have some good plans for it , Just a tip but i recon you should pay for the car first mate unless you want Brad to come and repossess it with the new engine in it :p
