Would you believe it???

I ordered an alternator 3 weeks ago, they rang me back later on and said it was being shipped over from Denmark. After countless visits it turned up today!!! WOOHOO!!!!

Totally different alternator though, some mip mop had but a different alternator in the right box :trout and thats the only one they had! :trout

To say I'm p:furious ssed off is an understatement!

Comparing the old one to a S13 200sx one to see if it will fit, anyone else tried this????

Cheers,

Dave AKA Happy Bunny

Dave,

I might have an alternator to fit, do you know the Part number?

PukkaSilvia 28-11-2007 19:00

if the pulley is the same the s13 ca18det one will fit

PukkaSilvia 28-11-2007 19:02

you can change the pulleys over but you need a decent impact gun as there fitted with bloody good locktight

30psi 28-11-2007 20:18

Can't see why an S13 one wouldn't fit

zxocmars 28-11-2007 20:37

I've got

Single grooved pulley(used)
Dual grooved pulley (used)
Double "V" pulley (new)

Sorry, I don't which cars they're from. I think the double V will be the one. ???

I think pics are required to show the diff's between the last 2

Why:confused:

It's simple

The first pulleys are wider and have some grooves across them
The second are V-shaped.

Will get pics on Friday :D

Part numbers for grooved pulley alternators are
23100-35f10
23100-D4410

The new one is Unipart GXE2403 - 258 769 (if it helps)

You said one was dual grooved  Mk1 S12 is single vee, mk2 S12 is multi vee

23100-35f10 is S13
23100-D4410 is B12,N13,T12,T72

lmrdave 29-11-2007 07:48

Mines a mk2 and part number is:-

23100 12C11 but they struggled to find it with this
A2T02394B is the mitsubishi number and order it off that, all checks out in there book.

it's 12v :D 70A and a 2 pin plug.

With the 200sx one I'm pretty sure it's multi vee like mine but just concerned that it might not line the belts up and kepp throwing them off, taking the power steering with it.

I've brought the old alternator in to work today on the bus and will get a lift up to the 'Electrical Specialist' after work and to top it off the misses wants to go late night shopping tonight

I have both of these alternators, and neither are V shaped. The pulleys about twice as wide as the V with 5 or 6 grooves across it, so would fit a wider/flatter belt.

I have a new one with dual-V for the wedge shaped belt.

30psi 29-11-2007 20:31

Multi vee is the 5 or 6 groove job. Prob best to take a pic anyway, I don't think a dual v one sounds at all right

Some mis-understanding in translation perhaps?

Will get pics. But definitely have both part numbers previously mentioned.

Just for future reference 200Sx alts do fit, although you need a longer mounting bolt.

Wish I'd known that 3 weeks ago!
