has anyone done this, how easy is it gunna be, is it just a case of welding the bracket for the battery in the boot and running 4 guage cabe down the car?

You can buy battery boxes. Try to use a battery that doesn't breath.

Run the wire to the starter motor terminal, and keep the original wiring to it. Then remove the battery terminals off that part of wiring.
