low oil pressure

my gauge sits bouy 1/3 up from cold! the hotter it gets, the lower it gets! if u really thrash it, it drops down to zero:eek:
the sender is only bout a year old and genuine nissan i think!
just wondering if the pick up filters tend to get blocked in the sump as seen a few ca18det lumps which have suffered from this!

dont trust it, the standard one usually is fubar. Try a mechanical one to be sure

what oil and oil filter are you using?

Beany-s12 13-08-2007 22:40

10/40 semi synthetic oil with fram filter

mine went about half way then dropped back to 1/3 before rebuild, now it goes 3/4 cold and just under 1/2 when really hot. Think it was just general wear in crank shells and leaking turbo seals but never made any knocking noises.
I would think that a 10w-50 oil would be better at maintaining hot oil pressure than 10w-40

yeah but 10/40 is cheaper and she leaks from the turbo return, and turbo seals r a bit on the shite side :D
