As suggested on msn
a common fault on the s12 is that the charge wire from the alternator becomes corroded and causes resistance or even brakes.Mine did this,.
you should check the output directly from the alternator rather than just at the battery next what i did to both was just run a new charge wire from the nut on the side of the alternator to the + terminal on the battery thats my first guess at your problem, give it a go and get back to me
