well the flywheel that was on it was actually lighter! but i fitted your one as the other one had loads of heatspots and some little cracks on it....i think it had a mk2 fly fitted, as it dident seem to be machined, heres a pic of a normal mk1 your lightened one and the one which was on it(i'm presuming a mk2 as ive heard these are lighter??). on my shitty scales the mk1 weighed 12kg lightened mk just under 10.5kg and the mk2 10kg

That is very weird!

Seems like a waste of time to be lightening a flywheel when a normal one will suffice.

The one there that has been lightened is a mk2, because it was about 2kgs lighter than what I replaced it with which was a mk2. So I assume the Mk1's are lighter than a Mk2 flywheel.

maybe

this is the 10kg one that was on the engine, you can see there's a little lip on the edge of it whereas the others don't have it?

that's the same as the fly I took of another B-reg car's engine, I looked at how i was going to lighten it and decided there's no need, it's just going to get a skim

The only thing I can think of, is that maybe you had a bluebird flywheel, because they always seemed to be more revvy from what I remember from being in a few.

Sorry about that mate. That was obviously a good intention, but a pretty pointless one.

Nice job ..Is that an adjustable fuel pressure regulator you have fitted there ?..I'd be interested to know which type it is and how you modified the injector rail as I want to replace mine to get a bit more control on fueling.

don't worry mate, as i said the other one had heat spots and was starting to crack anyway...

its a fse fpr, i got it second hand with the fuel rail, which has just been fabricated out of some pipe not using the standard rail at all....
