Cool, thanks for that!!!
My brother looks after around 20 gtir's, he does all the mods on them, so i guess he will have no real problems doing it  One more question, if you dont mind. Would we be able to stick the manifold back on and start the car up, to see what the engine is like?? Or would we have to replace the gasket first?? I dont fancy buying this car and then doing the work on it, to find the engine is Knackerd lol

yep thrash the pants off of it. the gaskets dont need wearing in..Most et engines are good. more reliable than sr20's and ca18det engines imo
. Your brother should be able to see if its any good from just the usual checks by the sounds of it. you could drive it on the buggered gasket but it will be down on power considerably and sound like a tractor

The guy selling it, dosnt want anyone doing any work on it, on his drive way.
So i guess i wont be able to hear it running will i??? The manifold is already off the car, and the seller says he hasnt the time to stick it back on. Can we start the car up without the manifold on?? just to hear the engine running?? Sorry for the dumb questions  My brother does all my work on my cars so i dont really know.

If he wont allow you to spend an hour on it then he cant be that bothered to sell it. It would run like sh*t and be so noisy that you wouldnt be able to hear any problems happening if there was any. Also you wouldnt know if the turbo was any good. Either buy it in trust or stay clear. If you do buy it all you can do is check it has a spark,compression test it and see if it turns over and you can hear the fuel pump. Maybe multimeter the batter to see if its nakered too

sounds to me like he dont want you to hear it before you take it, maybe knock the price a little on that hes not being very helpful in his own sale.
from the pic thou, the rest of the car does look quite clean and sound. **Free plug for silviagod.** also i personally would put the extra money to this car below, the guy selling it is prolly one of the most honest guys in the S12 community, and he does know the s12s well, i would say if hes selling it as a good car, then thats what it is. and its running. http://www.nissansilvia.co.uk/vbb/showthread.php?t=1739 **EDIT** i just saw your post  he did say he knows of 2 others.

He said he dosnt have the time to stick around for us to use his drive??? lol
He has dropped the price in all fairness  Im trying to sort a trailor out, and go pick it up The car does look straight and sound, so its not a big deal if the engine needs atention! Just havent really got the time to stck another one in.
