my old volvo intercooler had plastic end tanks which wouldnt be able to welded

dont see why not but not sure what pressure it could hold tho. would be worth a try

I think mine is metal, but not so sure now you brought it up will have to check and find an appropriate fix

Ckecked intercooler and yes it is plastic, so used a tight fitting self taper which hopefully will have cured the problem when I install it.
