removing the head
how easy is it to remove the head on the ca18et engine? bearing in mind i have next to no practical engine experience

why whats gone wrong mate ?, neither did i, and i removed and fitted a head, you ain't bought a ported one have you ? i know torbomike has a amt head, and i ant seen it for sale yet.

Its not that hard but for a 1st timer I would allow Two days for the job and a helper would be an advantage.

I managed to blow 2 of the studs out of the manifold, so i'm getting it helicoiled. I really just wanna save money on labour costs of my local mechanic, and to build up a bit of practical knowledge

you don't have to remove the head for that i did it myself only with removing the header. 5 hours work.

yep he is correct. You do not have to remove the head to do that, use a right angled air drill and a helecoil kit.. Buy some new studs and nuts from nissan or fixings shop
