Default Seperating the exhaust...

Kinda having trouble seperating the exhaust from the downpipe which runs of the turbo, trying to get the old turbo out so i can get my t25 on but it just won't seperate from years of being together any tricks or ideas i can try? If not i may wellbegetting the angle grinder out lol

soak with wd40 ,Next morning undo the nuts on the studs so that there nearly off and go for a drive lol It will soon work loose due to vibration and going through a heat cycle.

Your other option is to not force it but to use a bigger hammer lol.


dont loosen off any of the other nuts from the head,turbo until it has budged as the impact of the hammer will be abosorbed in the movement

Dam it knew i shouldn't have removed the manifold & thout it may involve taking her for a spin which is not an option as it is up on jacks with no wheels lol, thanks Pukka

If it's not actually welded to it you could try heating it and cooling it a few times with all the bolts undone, you'll need a good blowtorch though. a good bit of shock therapy doesn't go a miss either, just be careful of the old turbo and exhaust manifold.

I had this problem he on mine as the zorst had been on since new. I unbolts the elbow from the tubby then took off the down pipe from underneath and used a chisel with a hammer and it soon came loose
