Default Head leaking

Hello everyone, Silvia overheated last ..anyway topped up this morning and found water leaking from the head in the recess between no.2 & 3 exhaust port .Can this be repaired or do i need to buy a new head ?

Sounds like the head gasket to me.

I have seen some head gasket failures be purely down to the head gasket rotting away, which is normally when no anti freeze is used.

If its above where the headgasket is then it must be cracked

Thanks 30psi.. It's definitely leaking out above the gasket join so i presume the head is scrap unless i could get it welded.
I wonder if i'm just unlucky or i have another problem that caused it. The leak is accesible to a welding torch. Driving ok for now with top ups.

its cast ally, not really weldable like that, my mate works for a place that has repaired ally heads, they have to be put on a heat block table, and then the head has to be heated up to a certain temp, then welded with proper rods, normally stick welded, then cooled down very gradually over the course of hours.

imo, your better off getting another head. im sure there are plenty on here.

stick a wanted add in the wanted section.

bang some radweld/bars leak in it or smudge some chemical metal on the crack on the outside........ yeah do it! lol

Thanks for all the replies much appreciated . I stuffed some liquid metal over the crack which stopped the leak completely ..unfortunately oils in the rad header tank now so i'm going to put the head on ive been doing up.

How do i post pics on here ?
