ye i have a det oil pan and for drilling the block no you are wrong the oil feed is just plugged with a tread bolt.
i now that i have to wire the loom diffrent but i have a guy to sell me a loom from a det. hmm i will def try to wire the remaining wires. the reason for this is that there a re tons of Cheap det internals in sweden. and i got the ca18de enngine complete with all for 1000 swedish kronor and the rest (det stuff) for 2500 kronor total of 3500 kr equal to 259 £ and is that cheap or not ??????? another thing i realised when disasemblig the intake it is a butterfly valve type ?? good or bad?? i have a det intake to use but wich one is better?? regards/jocke

Ahh thats handy, Nissan did a bit of thinking with the oil drain.
I guess it doesn't make much difference if you are rebuilding the engine. Use the DET inlet, the butterfly thing is to help the emissions and driveability.
