when i tried using the mk2 alternator with the mk1 pulley the hole in the pully is bigger, i had to have a piece machined and pressed in, then it is'nr quite inline with the other pulleys, it sits a few mill back and wears the belt after a bit.

i dont have the pully nomore no sorry
![]() i never found any prob with the shaft size everything fitted fine. if you have the spindle and the nut turning seperatly to the pully, means you have prolly cracked the seal on the pully, but have jammed the nut on the thread in the process. cant remember if it was a left hand thread on the nut either??? prolly not...

It's a right nightmare at the moment, spent about 40minutes in a motor factors trying to find one that fits, the replacement it lists for mine have single vee's, and some list multi vee but only in 60amp, while mine was 70amp.
I will have another go tonight, I have found one that ticks all the boxes but thats £200! ![]() Umpkin where did you get you mk2 one from and how much was it?? |

I've got a selection of alternators at my workshop but haven't a clue what they are for.
I'll check part numbers and see if I have one that you need if you like? |

Got one ordered now as I was sick of the Silvia just sat there . . . . but they've rung back and told me it's going to take 10-14days as it's coming from Denmark
![]() Off to bag up some axle stands and a jack and strip the suspension down, rebuild the fronts and get the new springs on, then it isn't a total waste of time. ![]() |
