I measured the S13 to be wider by a few inches too:

Autoglass told adz that they couldnt get him a s12 screen but have managed to fit an s13 one. I think someone else on here has one fitted though too. Its on an old thread. Unless autoglass have there part numbers mixed up it seems a bit odd. I cant imagine mk1 and mk2 s12s to have different screens but thats the only other option

The screens are definately different sizes, I don`t know if the mk1 and mk2 screens are different. The 200sx I have is the facelift model and my s12 is a mk1, I`ve got the two cars side by side in my Unit.

It is possible that Autoglass have the wrong codes or that the screens from mk1 and mk2 s12`s are different, as well as the screen sizes from pre and post facelift 200`s. Hope that makes sense...LOL.... .

Looks like Autoglass may have got things mixed up then .

I must admit, the two screens I have do look similar, until you get the tape measure out .
