Default Engine block water pipe

Anyone know how the pipe from the engine block is sealed in? (the outlet of the water pump) I can see some sort of mastic in the joint.

Default

is this the steel tube into the block itself? if so its a push fit with either a slight taper on the pipe enmd or in the block. to remove ive used a tight fitting hammer stale down the meatl pipe itself and then wiggled back and to until you get enough gap to get a lever such as a large screwdriver or chisel in there. pain in the arse job, but once its moved 1/4" they usually come out easy enough. to refit ive used bearing lock, high temp silicone sealer and araldite on the three engines ive done. doesnt need much though, juts a dab to seal really
