s14 diff fits handy enough into s12 casing. just swap crown wheel and put back in. shafts are another story. theres one s12 shaft shorter than the other. can't remember which side it is though. anyway you need 2 short s12 shafts s13/14 diff and inner drives. the left hand s12 shaft needs to be shortened to avoid shuddering. little time comsuming but worth it if you want a bit of sideways action

Someone tried fitting an S14a diff and found the shafts to be thicker. So therefore they couldn't grind the S12 shaft shorter as it didn't have the required girth.

Default S13 diff and shafts?

I have sourced an 1989 S13 Diff from a 1.8 CA18DET and the drive shafts. There seems to be alot of people saying so many different things about what to fit and what will or won't work. Has anyone actually done this conversion and can confirm what you need to do? I am going to have a go starting in a fortnight and will submit the progress. I have a 1989 G reg S12 1.8 turbo. The diff and shafts are from a 1989 200sx CA18DET, I hope there isn't too much trauma but I'll give it a go. Any genuine input would be greatly appreciated.
