Bit of a shamless plug but while you are there have a word with the Simtek UK stand. I know they used to deal with both Omex and DTA, looking at the website they only stock DTA now but they might be able to answer some questions.
The reason for it being a shameless plug is that my cousin is the owner.

prices are almost the same for 600 really, only a few quid in it, looms and mapping time are dearer
you on the stand? not going thursday/friday this year (licence holders and trade only), actually going on a public day for the first time in 10+years (meeting a few guys that are only exhibiting sat/sun) so will have to contend with all the public and catalogue collectors lol.having exhibited at Autosports in prev years (for all 4 days each year ) its a shitty job, other than oggling the odd hot bird (usually the GF of some huge petrolhead )

No not at all, Just the software is written by GEMS (to omex specification) who also do it for a lot of ECU manufacturers are you 100% on that danny ? i'am sure they hav'nt always made there own ecu's i know when i had that omex 500 series i had a lot of probs with it, 1st it was overfueling, so i took it back to norris, all they did was take that j shaped hose off of the iaa unit, then it got worse, he told me to take it back down but it wun't of made it all that way, also they wired it wrong so it would not stop on the key,i ended up paying a local tuner to look at it, it cost me hundreds in the end just to find the fault, it was the cold start capacitors in the ecu that had failed, omex sorted it, but they had to have someone come in to fix it, i found after spending £1400 @ ND and the not bothered attitude of both ND and omex appaulling, ok £1400 to them is nothing, but for some folk its alot, they repaired it foc but so they should, so it cost me over £400 in labour at another garage, which i thought should of been payed for by omex,or they should of picked the car up and sorted it themselves.

Yes absolutely sure.
500 series ECU has been supersceded a long time ago and isn't supported anymore. the 600 is a vastly superior ECU and will be enough for MOST 4 cylinder applications. I dont know the details of your dealings, but that was several years ago and done through ND. |
