Default Alternator help

As I are electrical numpty, I need some help.

My rather new alternator is not charging the battery, as tested with car running, volts over battery terminals is less than 12volts, rather than the 13/14 I would expect.

I've checked the fusable links and they seem fine (continuity across the fuse, and to the battery live, although I didn't test from the link to the alt )

Checked continuity from alt to battery live and it was fine.

I don't have a warning light on in the dash, but I'm sure it's not worked since going with the 200sx alt.

Any ideas?

I want to try everything I can before pulling the alt out as I don't want to be spending more money for no reason, and the intercooler and rad have to come out to get at the alt.

Pukka, I can't get you xbox message as my TV has just died (having a good week this week!), sent you a PM though.

Turns out there is a connection fault in the sensing wire, thus no warning light on in the dash.

Plus a fault with the alt, so it's all coming out toot sweet and getting sorted, which should allow me to get on with a few other jobs that need doing.
