Default Wheel Nutz

Got the SSRs Ewen was selling on SXOC but the factory S12 nuts are no good. Am I correct saying wheel nuts are either flat or have a 60 degree taper ?

The wheels have tapered nut "seats", plus the factory nuts are much too wide and fowl the hole they should pass through.

I'd like to help you mate, but my knowledge of wheel nuts is sh*te! - I have 2 spacers I bought a while ago to pad the rear arches out, but still haven't got the courage up to start messing with them!

Den.

Can you get what we call "tuner nuts" over there?

http://www.summitracing.com/search/B.../?autoview=SKU

They have plenty of choices. I use them on my SSRs that my S12 runs on. Specifically of the second choice. I would have to figure out the thread pattern for I forgot, but I have that style on my car.

Shouldn't be too hard Japster you'll probably just need longer lugs/studs.

Yes but we don't really have a name for them. Seems most are 60 degree taper so that's what I was going to try.

edit; went for these

The wheel nuts for those wheels are 12by1.25 60degree tapers. They are used on generally any set of aftermarket alloys, the 12by1.25 bit is the thread for a silvia.

Yeah that's what I arrived at but it's nice to have someone varify

The brakes look real small now

S14 4-pots should sort that. Oh and the tyre sizes aren't quite right for the S12 but that'll be sorted soon.
I think the rears coudl do with moving outward slightly, maybe 5-10mm spacers ?

The rear tyres have a slight stretch, that'll be sorted soon with new rubber.
