i have 5" in my fronts, but have to drill the screw holes, and have a 6mm gap round the outside. so maybe 6.5" would fit, with an adaptor ring made of fibreglass or MDF.

i have a bit of covered MDF with 6 x 9's in, i never saw the original standard speakers, so cant help there sorry.

** EDIT ** just thought, when i got a new set a short time ago, i got the same 5" ones, and they have the plastic cover front on them (where my first ones didnt) and this covered the gap, the screws catch the edge of the hole, and facia covers the 6mm gap, so you may get away with them, depends on how fussy you want to be. you could get a cheap £15 set to see how you feel about the fitting, then get some more expensive ones once your happy with it.
