My tyres have only ever been used for ordinary road driving and have never been subjeccted to any adverse conditions.
Maybe if you are using t1r's for racing and you have them up to temp then they will perform but for ordinary road use they are dreadful.I've done a bit of research on a website that I'm on which has over 4000 members and the general consensus is that nobody would buy them a second time. R888's are reckoned to be good but t1r's aren't. All the tyre tests I have read place them amongst budget tyres for performance, and I would have to agree. |

you get what you pay for with tyres im afraid.
Comparing R888s to T1-Rs or any other 'normal' road tyre is a bit unfair, 888s are a semi-slick and softer compound/harder sidewall, so transmit more road noise and vibration into the cabin (tiring for a roadie) and wear rate is MUCH higher. 888s also do need to warm slightly to work better than a boggo road tyre, they are sh*te in rain or v.cold (ie last 3 months ![]() if the cars a 'sunday blaster' id go for a track based tyre and enjoy the benfits of the extra grip, but if its a daily the wear rate and nasty wet handling will get to you in the end. all my mates that have run them, ended up with a spare set of wheels for bad weather/normal driving whats the setup of the car? std suspension or modified?

that will depend on the EU rulings/legislation, its still not definite yet, and the date of implementation isnt confirmed if it does happen

Also if it will apply to Ireland is another question
I would buy t1-rs again as there dirt cheap tbh and handled pretty well, the sidewalls were pretty firm and well reinforced too. had 205-50-15s stretched on 8.5j rims with an offset of ten. Probably helped quite a bit though ![]()

They aren't as cheap as the uniroyal rainsports though and they come rated really highly by everyone so I think I'm going to give them a try.
