I want to use the S13 mounts but I cant get the s12 ones unbolted. I cant get a spanner in the gap to unbolt them. I aint dropping the subframe.

I will try and bend a spanner tomorrow with a *ucken big hammer
Do you think the s12 mounts will be ok ? after all they are only 2 bolt v 3 bolt

Well it depends, if you're a lunatic trying, drifting, dumping the clutch etc then a weakness in those bolts will show up.

In my old S12 I had the bolts shear on the inlet side. The engine dropped a few inches. It didn't drop any further because the oil filter stuff itself in to the side of the amount. Made a hole in the oil filter though.

H'mmm I think I will try and bend a spanner tomorrow. If I cant undo them, they will have to stay stock

your failure was due to difference in bolt length and thread depth in the block I seem to remember??. I think it would have been fine if the difference had been identified before.

Can't remember I'd have to look back at threads. I know it happened to Adam too. I found the pic of the what (both bolts) had remained in the block. They don't look too long to have bottomed out though.



EDIT - Had a thought - I think one of the bolt holes in the DET block isn't used for the S13 brackets, but is for the S12 brackets. Maybe the thread isn't cut as deep as on the S12 blocks?

Oh well its in now and unless anything happens (fingers crossed) its staying put
