Default engine mount query

hi, i think one of the engine mounts has gone on my s12 as the engine is very "jiggly" in neutral

does anyone know where i can get replacement mounts from or are they the same as s13 & s14 mounts?

cheers

You can use S13's as direct replacements BUT you would almost certainly have to remove the front subframe as you cant get to the nut to remove the S12 one. I couldnt even get to them with the engine out!

i've changed them before with the engine in matey, 17mm ring spanner, but take a bit of the angle off of it by bending it in the vice then it fits up better.

My choice tool is a ratchet spanner with a wobble head . . . easy Well still a right pain to do but possible.

You can use S13 ones and swap the engine mount bracket over to S13 ones. Or make simple adaptor plates that pick up on the S12 engine mount brackets and the S13 engine mounts. If you can drill holes in a plate you can do it.

You can also use universal bobbin ones aswell if you want to do it on the cheap.

get some uprated escort ones from ralley designs, just a solid block of rubber and stiffer than the oem ones.lots cheaper too.
