Default HOW the HELL do people remove the exhaust manifold on a ca18et!!!!

right ive been at this all day with no joy!!

i cant get the nut that is blocked by the turbo!! one would think right remove the turbocharger but i cant get access to the rear 2 nuts either! Since there are the stupid locking tabs!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGRRRRRRRRRRRGRRRRRRRRRRR


how have people got round this??

i use a spanner that i grinded the ring side down and use a mirror 2 locate the nut from under the manifold try that bud

if you can remove the water pipes that feed the turbo, that also makes it easier, as they cross/run infront of the stud and nut in question.

got the nut half off with a curved spanner then it locked and rounded! what a cunt! its never been off in 26 years so its no supprise!.

Going to take the engine out the weekend and sort it! that means ill get the wife to clean her engine bay and engine! lol

bad luck bud about manifold nut might as well check clutch and the spigett bearing at the of the crank they wear on s12 i.e wot make and where did you get your intercooler from nice one thicking of getting one four my cheers

clutch has just been done along with the bearing.

ill see if there is any oil round the crank seal when i take the engine out.

its just a cheapo ebay one! will do the job its build quallity looks good to be fair!
