An update. The diode near the alternator loom was gone, bridged that and now the headlamps stay on with ignition on. Other diodes are ok.
Cleaned and connected up all the grounding points, now the wipers work fine without disturbing the headlights. Still the headlights are playing up. Left lamp turns on when stalk is in second click position, no high bean when stalk is pulled back, main beam cuts out and no high beam. Right lamp shows no lights at all. Both diodes are ok. Any clues people? Tim mate any chance i can borrow your stalk? ![]() |

Gonna give this another go this evening, does anyone know if there are any other copies of the service manual apart from the 1986 one everyone has? I'm convinced my wiring doesn't match up

SORTED!!!
The first thing I checked when this problem came up was the fuses which at the time were fine, and while I have been tinkering with the wiring I think I must have blown the 15a fuse for the d/s headlamps. After scratching my head for days I went back and checked... hey presto the fuse was blown. Replaced it and now everything is ok ![]() |
