Just make sure you get that head skimmed properly and it won't blow again.

Ideally get it pressure tested as well, as it could be a crack.

Well I took the head off today and found what was really wrong. NO.2 Inlet valve wasn't closing!. I don't know yet whether someones *uck up when changing the Timing belt / the valve is slightly bent or its the good old fashioned Carbon build up. I took off the rocker bars to make sure there all shut to check and I could see light on No.2, so there you go. I've checked the HG but it covered in too much *hit to see were it has gone. Anyways I had a good spare head which I've stripped for a thorough clean, skim and recut valves etc to save some time. One other thing though I have noticed that Oil was leaking from the tubby around the core/Exhaust housing so the seals are Fubar. I'll put up some pics later
Thanks Wacomuk!

Well on friday I went down to my mates Engine reconditioning unit in Tottenham were my cylinder head was overhauled. It was stripped cleaned throughly and skimmed. The valves were cut and the seats had the Three angle job done on his serdi machine. Heres a few pics of it done. Next job to refit it and find a decent SH turbo which I've had a few offers so far as mines Fubar !

Looks like they have done a good job.
Are you going to helecoil the manifold studs and rocker shaft retaining bolts?

Nissan really did fit those valve heads tight together.

The two studs missing have been Helicoiled by myself already. The rocker ones are fine as I checked them whilst it was stripped. Had to use a drill with a wire attachment in the ports to remove the carbon and muck!

Whilst its off mate i would strongly suggest u force the old studs out so the whole lot are freshly helicoiled. I left one in out the 6 that was solid and within 3 weeks it fell out since the lot have been done none of then nuts have budged so im blow free

It should turn into a really nice reliable s12 (is there such a thing? )

Are you keeping it auto and is this to eventually replace your grey s12?

Default Update

Well its been a while but I finally got the beast down to North London Vosa Vic station were it passed today. It needed this check as the car was a cat c insurance right-off as someone had smashed the two N/S windows ! Cost me £36 for some technician to check the chassis number buts its done now any road. The car Ran sweet the 60 mile round trip. It amazed me how quiet and smooth a standard Auto is! Nothing like my modded Manual. I've got rid of flakey Silvia wheels and have replaced them with some 15" Primera which smarten it up. Next on my list is to sort the corrosion on the front wings and a small hole in the F/O/S sill.
