i dont understand this at all. im still on original mk1 mounts on my det. They work a treat. Check your gearbox mount is not loose or damaged

It took my engine a year of abuse before it wrecked one of the bolts.
For sure though on the DET block you will find that one of the bolts will bottom out as the thread is only tapped half way in. You could use a washer to get around it.

Well its not something im doing and i used washers last time to prevent them bottoming out

How are you fitting them on?
I guess you jack the engine up and bolt the bracket on to the block then lower it to the mount? The only thing I could think of is that if you didn't disconnect the bracket from the mount then it may interfer with it tightening nicely against the block. I suspect you aint doing that as it would be harder than doing it disconnected from the mount. Maybe the bolts are simply gay?
