Default blue puff of oil smoke

every now and again my engine gives out a few seconds of blue (oil) smoke, anyone know why, it clears after a few seconds then maybe wond do it again for ages.

waters fine and oils fine.

valve stem or turbo seals

turbo seals would maybe sound possible, now where would i buy some of them ? is it important to change them ?

Its most likely to be turbo seals, you can rebuild it yourself by buying a kit like this from ebay

i really wun't advise rebuilding your own tubby, it will cost you more in the long run,for the price that a recon t2 will cost you its not worth it

if there in the turbo i doubt its the prob as its a brand new unit £500, hasnt even been on the road yet.

When does it puff oil smoke from Cold/hot ? if the Turbo is New then I would say this can be ruled out. The other Two things it can be (like Shaun said) Valve stem oil seals or valves Guides probably Exhaust side as they wear. Or Oil rings are worn which may Not show up on a Compression test. If its from Cold I would bet on Valve Guides or stem seals as oil could leak down them overnight and are burnt off when the engines started.

i have a mega squirt ecu and the car does it when its warm just after giving it a bit of large on the throttle, gives out quite a bit of smoke then after a 10-20 seconds its clear again, its a really strange one.

leave it to cool and its fine again
