Talking The RB20DET S12 runs!

It is friggin awesome! It goes and kicks you in the ass as it takes off with wheels squeeling then turbo kicks in... you are kicked in the ass again and are sucked in your seat. Not even topped out, but

1st gear: easily 45mph
2nd gear: 65 mph
3rd gear: 85/90 mph

I never got to fourth gear honestly... And that wasnt even redlining. After we parked it, Randy took it so it bounced off the rev limiter... and man, it sure went higher than when we went driving. It is so friggin fun!

More pics and even videos about Sat/Sun. I just need some better IC couplings and a little more exhaust piping for me to take her home. I couldnt help but to smile non stop it was great!

Soon to come within a couple weeks for quick upgrades are: T3/4, AFC Neo, GTR injectors

Okay... Okay... here are some pics to whet your appetite until later when we have videos and when the car is washed and everything is in final form.

Hope you like them.

IC pic and yes, the hood does close shut without any problems. RB fits in without any troubles. And the oil pan sits where it should and doesnt hit the ground or even come close... we would have noticed when we drove it.

RB-ness....

Exhuast

And exhaust shops say that a 3" system would not work. Well, it's cause they dont want to actually put any effort into their job. It works beautifully. Clears the steering column (very close but Randy did one hell of a job). Minimal bends and the entire thing is mandrel bent.

Okay, I know the following picture will get some people all up in a roar. But first, hear me out.

I based it off the concept that if the S12 came from the factory with a RB20DET. The object of this swap is to make it appear as stock as possible with some additions. So there isnt any extra bling anywhere. Nissan made a Z31/300ZX that came with a RB20DET stock. This car was called a 200Z-R/200ZR. 200 for the size of the engine, 'Z' for the chassis and 'R' for race or RB... I think. Anyway, the SE S12 that came with the VG30E, the same stock motor as the Z31/300ZX, is a "factory hybrid". It lifted much of it's workings from the Z31. So, the best way for my particular S12 (SE/V6 S12) to be swapped would be to take the same RB system from the 200ZR. In a sense, one could make a correlation that if it was done and the S12 came from Nissan with a RB stock... it could/would be considered a 200S-R/200SR. Also, back then, the RB20DET was the shit. So for the 'racing' intetions or the 'RB', I also took for use of my car. Reason why I'm using the S15 Spec R emblem and used the GT-R. I am using the 'old school' naming... trying to put it in a setting as current as it could be as if the car was kept in good condition since 1987 with some additions (IC, guages, and exhaust). Also, it's my car and I'm gonna do it cause I like it. If I'm gonna use the Spec R emblem for RB in the cabin, might as well make the name plate match.
