if it is rubber you have to use paint with elastisiser (excuse the speeling)in it. This allows the paint to stretch without cracking. Beware tho as painting that mixture is a C U Next Tuesday!

Personally if this is a standard silvia spoiler a jet wash will blow it to pieces lol, even if it was brand new let alone 20 years old.

Can i ask why you are going to so much trouble as to painting a rubber spoiler?

If i was you id spend my money on getting a renault 19 spoiler or pug 405 from the local scrappy and paint that instead.they Look much better and will paint alot easier as they are not rubber.

The reason I've said it's rubber is that the the edges are spongey, it's pink in colour in it's "raw" state under the paint. There's only small patches of cracking, damaged in transit I expect, as i said I was going to fill the cracks in the paint then spray with primer, now I may strip it right back and spray with a plastersizing primer ( I've seen some for plactics/rubber that stretches with what it's sprayed on ) the top coat it. But it's going to have to wait till after xmass now I'll let everyone know what happens when I've done it.
