Question Bodykit

Right, there's a problem, Both the front and rear bumpers on my s12 are badly damaged.
I was gonna replace the with oem bumpers but it's nearlly as easy to put on bodykit bumpers.
Promlem is i cant find any nice s12 kits.

Does anyone know if an AE86 bodykit would work. I know it won't be a perfect fit, but can they be made to fit without major work???

if you put in the time, you prolly can make anything fit.

http://tinyurl.com/yxel4w

read through that, although that guy has spent a mint on it, the body kit he made for it just shows anything is possible.

cant really help much more than that as i dont think there are any replacment bumpers/bodykitted bumpers available in the uk.

yeah, i can't seem to find any at all. I've seen some desperate looking kits in pictures i found on the web, but can't find anyone who makes 'em, and for someone who sells kits on the side - that ain't good.

I'll keep looking for kits made for other cars that may suit, but going by factory measurements, the ae86 kit is the closest fit. Wheather it'll work or not - we shall see - and butcher a brand new bodykit in the process.

Thanks for your help tho mate, it was much appreciated

No not at all, i actually like those kits but there more common than i'd like.
The other kits i've seen must be custom kits or something but they just don't suit the car at all. I think i'm gonna chance an ae86 drift kit, there's loads to choose from and apparently easy to fit to the silvia - but we shall see.

Any one know what the story is regarding converting an s12 to unleaded???

easy, just fill up with the green nosel. mainly i use the tesco super unleaded 99RON

from what i hear (dunno if its true) but LRP fooks up the turbo.

some say retard the timimg a little to run unleaded, i think mine is still std.

the only thing that gets done to an engine in conversion is valve seat inserts, but i was told by SE this engine has them already fitted coz its an ally head, and because its turbo, i have been running unleaded since i got the car in 1999.

i wonder does mine need to be converted. I got unleaded petrol in it to bring it home (60 mile journey) and i haven't driven it since. It drove perfect but the seller did say that he was using LRP in the car since he bought it in 1993, and that it would need to be converted. But mine's a turbo and i think the head is alley - can't tell with all the dirt, a wash wouldn't be a bad thing.

It funny that you mentioned LRP fookin up the turbo, my cars had the turbo replaced twice. I have one spare which i'm rebuilding in case i need it.

Apparently tho, running it on unleaded can destroy the engine , hardly true is it???

I've been running on unleaded (usually BP ultimate, which I believe is 97RON) for as long as I've had the car, which is a year and a bit now. Fella that sold it to me said it ran fine on unleaded, is this untrue? I am now

It's a MK2 BTW, if that makes any difference.
