Tax exemption

The 25 year exemption for road tax was withdrawn. Now there is an appeal going and I have entered my name along with many others to the petition. Soon my Silvia will be that old and it would be nice not to pay the tax if possible.
Please tell as many people as possible and put your names down. Unfortunately I have only just heard about this and the closing date is tomorrow the 31st. Here is the link:

That's not quite true but it's still worth signing.

Currently if your car is pre 74 then you no longer need to pay road tax. They are not abolishing that law, the petition is to extend the date from pre 74 to a later date (probably up to 82 ish so that cars that are over 25 will once again not be required to be Road taxed)

Also the closing date of the Petition is 31st of May and not March.

I've signed it as I think it's still a good idea!

when the original law came in it was for all vehicles over 25 years old, then they realised it was to cost them a lot of money as there was a lot of old cars still on the roads, so they then changed it again, and locked it to 1973 (the current year at the time) i think its only fair to update this as its now very out of date, and could also benefit me

They won't change it back though. Once they take something away you'll never get it back.

They want the old cars off of the road so doubt they'll change it.
