Default Diff confusion

Allright now i have a s14 diff whit the shafts and stuff, but theres one thing im woried about. My s12 diff was making some bad sounds while the car was still driving (some clicking sound when you take off, or change a gear). Any ideas where it was coming from? Im just wondering will i need another good s12, or will i find everything i need in the s14 one.

The bushes sure are worn quite badly, so it might be the subframe (but these will be changed anyway), but the diff seems suspicious also, because when i neutral the driveshaft has quite a lot of movement, and there is a similar sound (just not as loud ofcourse) when you move it with a hand.
