Default Magnecor HT leads

right i've had a set of Magnecor HT leads for a while now, blue performance ones. The other week I got a call from a representive from Magnecor asking me about my s12 and the HT leads if they do fit properly, guy sounded like an aussie but he was saying someone else they sold S12 ht leads to has informed them they don't fit?

was told they've only made a few but only reason I can think of is if the guy's swapped the engine, or the distrubitor is in a different place...ie...different country different engine model. Set I got fit perfectly in an L shape and use the original plastic hooks

no idea but surely the ca18det would need longer ones as the engines that bit bigger. Not sure, just a random thought.

Mine were the bigger core ones and they were a bit tight to fit, but fitted ok.

Some of those leads look too short Dave (to clip in the normal places anyway)

I bought a 8mm lead set for a V8 which was only about £25, enough to do 2 cars too. You have to make up them up to length but it's damn cheaper than Magnecor.

wasn't that expensive, plus I bought them along side a new set of spark plugs. Got them both on the same day and simply installed them straight away without a fuss.

aye the 8mm red ones were classed as "Race/road" If I'm correct, mine are 7mm performance range.

Yeah, those 7mm blue leads fit alot better. Mine are a bit messy but they work, so I'm happy

I get a good deal through my motor factors and I was feeling flush that day

lol, cheers bud. It could do with tidying up but it's purely just comestic at the moment. Soom to be filled with an intercooler so that should cut the space in the engine bay down.

Default Magnecour HT Leads.

Hi there WM 12,

I read your post re the blue performance HT leads and was quite interested to find that yours fitted perfectly. I ordered as set some time ago and found them not to fit properly and have all the photo's to prove it!

I did however get back in touch with Phil de Wit at Magnecour.

I posted the evidence to him and he agreed they were too short to follow the proper OE routing around the engine. The solution! Give him the proper lead measurements for each lead to allow the guy's to manufacture a new set of leads to fit the engine as per Nissans original lead routing.

Result:

It worked but, turned out better than that because Phil offered the upgraded race/ fast road set in red at 8mm. They are also fitted with the extended pink plug boots, these are about 95 mm long and afford a better fit to the plugs as well as grip when having to be removed from the plugs during servicing.

Part number: KV 85

The above was done by way of an apology for the inconvenience of being sent an improperly fitting set of leads..

The new set are fabulous and they fit properly too.

Personally, I would recommend them as they are that good. The materials are of excellent quality as well as build being very well executed. The leads incidentally have a 10 year guarantee on them.

In context, the leads are well worth the money and you do not need to go through an intermediary as Magnecour can be contacted directly.

The engine! A CA 18ET just like yours.

If anyone wishes to see the photo's just ask and I'll post them for all to inspect.

I hope this clears your little mystery up.

Best regards,

John
