Default value of s12's

i do agree that the s12 is very underated, nissan's have allways lost their value compared with toyota's,silvia / ae86/ celica, or there 300zxtt compared with the supra, nissans are a steal for the price, the skyline will probley brake the mould and keep its price, we deffo need to keep these cars on the road and hope that people will eventually recognise them as a future classic.

i have said in the past that one day the silvia will be reaching ae86 prices and the sooner or later the notch back silvias along with our shape silvias will be imported in great numbers so lets stay strong and together on this deartment it will only benifit us in time especialy when more and more people are looking for an alternative jap rwd motor as if you look at cars know it is limited in turbo powered cars as the 80s was the glorious era for sure

yeah, long live the nissan s12 silvia zx turbo ,i'll keep mine until it crumbles to the floor, its also great that there's a younger generation that recognises this as a great car from the 80's.

my brother has got 3 corolla gt mk1 fwd 2 in the garden and one on the road he will never sell if i had it my way i would force nissan, toyota, mitsubishi to bring back the corolla gt(fwd) silvia and the cherry turbo and the starion and colt turbo back in a 2007 spec same shape just with more power and lux but it looks like i would need to win the lotto or bump into a rich arab who share the same idea lol
did you know that they still make mk1 vw golfs for the south african marktet apparently you can buy one for around £10k and it is all up to date to current spec imagine owning a s12 with a 55 number plate

The s12 is a future classic , no doubt about it , i know full well that the s12 i sold flexxx is worth much more than £650 , the reason i sold it was simple , this time next week the garage it lived in will be no more .i didn't have time or space to hang on to it , i ent hard up for cash and i'm glad its gone to flexxx , he appreciates it and can give it much more time than i can and if he decides to sell it in a few years when all the scabby high milers have died i'm sure he will make a mint

i said the same thing to ian7v that the s12 has character compare to other cars on the scene nowadays as nowadays all cars not only look the same but are roughly the same car just in different bodies and it all a bit too boring where as the lucky residents arund the world got the full monty having their pick at models that we dont get

I would value any et s12 in good condition with tax and mot at being worth about £950-£1500 .Full tax and mot on a car to me is worth £500.

I will be interested to see how things stand in about 8 years time

I think the biggest problem for S12 values at the moment is S13 values! You can pick up an S13 for under a grand and there just don't seem to be many people out there willing to pay the same or more for an S12 when they can get an S13 instead

The S12 may have more character and be rarer, but how many Nissan collectors are really out there? Even if there are a couple of dozen (which seems the likely maximum) that's not enough to turn the car into a 'collectors item' in my opinion.

The S12 is a great car but I reckon they're a good few years away yet from being worth serious cash.
