Lol mate ive just spent 2 years getting to 250bhp, its not a case of money either its a case of getting custom parts made up etc and finding the people out there good enough to do your fabrication work etc, takes along time to come across the right mods for big power on the ca18et, if your after big power quickly i suggest you go for a det conversion as there are off the shelf uprated parts available.

He has a point. If you after 250bhp at the least it would be far quicker and cheaper to do the 16v engine conversion. 250bhp is possable but it will take more than a month as you will have to spend time sorting out parts and fabricating things. Not to say that you shouldnt go for it. Just dont expect it to be easy and fast unless you have alot time

Ah got you.

i didnt realise the parts were the isue

I was thinking of running stock internals, puting a boost control, uprated fuel pump, straight through exhaust, colder plugs, uprated clutch, tubular manifold and maybe a bigger turbo on, and winding the boost up

Winding the boost up on a set of rollers that is, so we can monitor the fueling

Wouldnt that give me 250+bhp then??

im still in the thinking of a gtir lol

You certainly wont get 250 bhp on the std turbo mate, so the answer is no to that question. If you are going to stick with the Et which is a cool option as there isnt many big powered ets around, you can use my spec list in my thread ( the story so far ) as a reference guide. Give you an idea of what your looking at to acheive 250 bhp
