is this the diff you've got ?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OBX-H...item2a0b294c41 Was it easy to install ? What about shimming it? And the last Q is I see you've used the standard shafts, were they a straight fit in this LSD?

you need 2xs12 short shafts, (passenger side), then shorten 1 of them by 8mm by grinding the end and deepen the grove on it so that the snap ring fits, then the other shaft, you take the splined end off and fit the flanged end on off of an s13 shaft, then you use the pot joint out of the s13 diff into the s12 diff, which mates up to the flange on the shaft.

It's designed for an s13 with open diff so the original shafts fit straight in. It's a straight copy of a Quaiffe lsd. I've read that you need to replace the belleville springs in the obx cos they are crap but I've had no problems with mine and I'm running more than 300bhp. I like it as a road use lsd as you really won't notice it's there unless you are giving it the loud pedal. |

They'd be the original shafts

Only problem is do I replace the other pinion bearings to make sure they dont give up once on the road. This would mean a whole load of hassle according to the Manual. In the meantime I have sent an email to RHDJAPAN.com to enquire on the prices of the bearings

Machining it is easy you can do it by hand with an angle grinder and you have the S13 shaft to see exactly what you're aiming for.
Northerner - I wouldn't bother doing any of the bearings, just use all the original bearings and shims in their original places and then use some engineers blue to understand what needs adjusting if at all.
