Machining it is easy you can do it by hand with an angle grinder and you have the S13 shaft to see exactly what you're aiming for.
Northerner - I wouldn't bother doing any of the bearings, just use all the original bearings and shims in their original places and then use some engineers blue to understand what needs adjusting if at all.
